Special Teams Faceoff Formation

The faceoff formation settings still don't work. I already complained about that one year ago in NHL 24. I give you an example. My 1-3-1 formation in powerplay is: ..............Marchment................... Johnston - Hintz - Robertson ..............Heiskanen................. My faceoff formation setting is: Marchment - Hintz - Robertson Johnston - Heiskanen So actually Hintz would have to take the faceoffs. But it is Marchment, wo takes them. In 2023 EA named this Faceoff Settings as one of the key new things. Now one year later ist still doesn' work. It's really annoying!!!

Speed boast issues/ai defense is horrible

Ai defense is horrible everyone else is getting speed boats while I’m still slow with 95 speed and 95 acceleration game is awful skating mechanics are horrible hand eye coordination in the game is terrible needs updating big time

Update on Matchmaking

NHL 25 Patch Notes 1.1.1

Patch 1.1.1 for EA SPORTS NHL 25 goes live on October 15th at 1 pm ET. EASHL Matchmaking On Friday afternoon we rolled out 2 server-side changes to help improve two specific issues being encountered by the community in World of Chel. Improved Private Game matchmaking so teams matchup with their opponents. Improved EASHL Club 3v3 and Club 6v6 Match Goalie functionality.

First impressions of NHL 25 Online VS

So the good. They fixed everything I complained about last year. The action tracker replays are fixed, they removed the R3 tie up which you would accidently hit while trying to take a shot. The hits require a little more skill and timing and the Michigan is more difficult to pull off. All good and thank you. The thing that still bothers me is the pressure system which rewards opponents who circle around in my zone and play keepaway until the pressure meter is up and then pretty much any shot is either in the back of your net or trickling through your gassed goalie. With the addition of these long range missile one timers from the point which are being scored on me almost 3 times a game its tough to defend. A tweaking of the pressure system is needed more than anything. I love everything else so far. It would be nice to see the coach during the timeouts or the goalie shame skate to the bench when making goalie change. Not sure why those videos were removed the last couple years. All in all another amazing job though 👏

Tie Up Face-offs

I think it's time to nerf tie up face-offs. Feels like half the people playing this game do nothing but tie ups. Takes no skill and makes the game boring. Not saying it needs to be taken out of the game, just needs to be less effective.

So we're back to the stick lift being the automatic penalty button again...

Before this recent patch, the stick lift was FINALLY a useful defensive tool. Just like in real life! Go figure! So what did EA do? Screwed it up with the most recent patch so that is almost completely worthless again, just like in NHL 24. What was the reasoning behind this? Too much complaining from streamers and "influencers" who don't actually bring anything to the game, despite what you think back there at the home office? They having trouble abusing the glitchy goals and doing their nonsensical figure skating ballerina garbage all over the ice? You know... the stuff that would get your head taken off in any league that allows contact? Or that would cause the player to lose control of the puck when trying that garbage 99% of the time when a halfway competent defender is nearby, let alone engaging with them? In real life, the stick lift is one of the most used and essential tools that players use to... and get this... PLAY DEFENSE. I know it isn't sexy or fun to discuss and certainly doesn't make highlight reels or stupid clips people post online. But it is a critical aspect of playing hockey. Funny part? I don't play as a defenseman either. Just a center. But I'm out here championing the cause for you defenders and two way style players (like I am.) Would love to hear why this was nerfed... nay... made almost useless and punishing to players. Disclaimer: I LOVED the way the game played upon early release. Almost everyone online with whom I interacted felt the same. And we voiced that in forums far and wide, myself included. Yet here we are... back to EA doing EA things that the majority of the player base did NOT request or complain about to appease the few whiners and gripers who prefer their ridiculous arcade-y nonsense to actual hockey. Thanks, EA! Never stop never not letting me down ever!

Online options

Is there any way if I play online with a friend, unranked, that there can be a way to pause the game longer than 30 sec? I just want to play with a friend without ranked options. Is this something that can be discussed? or is there a reason why it's not possible?

In-Game stats are broken

The in-game stats have literally been broken since Day 1. I'm not sure if the PS users have having the same issue, but 6v6 Club stats are missing. I just can't even comprehend why something like this is broken in a yearly iteration of the game.

MATCH TEAM SIZE NEEDS TO BE ADDED INTO 25

Why has this not been a thing since DAY 1, I get matched with 3 person teams when I only have 1 other person usually, they just walk to ai and I can't do anything about it because we should not have to watch more than 1 person. I should not be getting punished of MY RP and MY STATS because of stupid things like this. Either fix the AI d men or add a match room size. I'm trying to say this in the best way possible but this has gotten to the point where I am losing my mind over this.

Your servers are awfull

3 hours literally 3 hours and not a single online game I've tried every position just to play. This year's game is a an absolute embarrassment I don't expect yous to do anything about it because yous are the epitome of laziness and deserve to be shamed. Its 1 am were I'm at in Scotland which is prime hockey time and I cannot get a single game. EA you are atrocious 😡

Server Issues

These servers are abysmal 3 hours to get a decent game people just leave instantly because they can't match goalies and when you do finally get a full team the game had a panic attack and breaks down. Years of this yous ought to be ashamed of yourselves I'm embarrassed for yous and I spent £62 on this slop.

This game is so broken

How this is even possible? Second Day of game and we cabt even find a game. We have play three hour and find one "good game". You said that Day one patch that you fixed that goalieproblem, but no. There is same problem. FIX YOUR **bleep** GAME!

Player evaluation

EA, really? It was already glaringly obvious in NHL 24 that online games were biased in favor of opponents. And now? This isn't even funny anymore—it's just sad. The fact that the game is full of bugs, has illogical physics, and nonsensical penalty calls seems like something you'll never fix... or perhaps you just don't see it. But what frustrates me the most is the clear advantage opponents have. How is it possible that I play Drop-In 3v3, leading 3:0, with smooth passing, skating, and faceoffs—everything is working for me and my opponent. Then suddenly, in the last period, I lose 8:3 just because everything stops working. I become slow, can’t land body checks, my shots and passes go completely off target, even though my energy is full. Nothing in the game changes, and neither does the opponent’s gameplay. They barely get 15 shots, yet somehow score 8 ridiculous goals! This is shameful, and don't tell me it's not happening! I’ve been playing NHL since 1996, every single release, and I’ve seen all the good and bad throughout the years. This year’s NHL 25 will be my last. I’m done with NHL unless something major changes. I’m tired of paying full price for a game that feels like a $20 DLC. I’m returning NHL 25.

I still dunno who plays what!?!

Great... My player has my username shown underneath their skates while we're having a faceoff... My player is also facing up, just like me, and the rest of my team.... ✅️... For me, off the faceoff it would be more informative to know which player is at the faceoff. I know that the fwds are posted in the bottom corners of the screen, but I often miss those for one reason or another. The numbers on their back aren't usually all that helpful because I'm dealing with players I'm not all that familiar with, not to mention I could have three or more of the same number on my team. But once that guys start moving around, and I can't pay attention to the number on their back because they turn around or get hidden by other players, so I'm just supposed to know which position they're supposed to be playing...?!? Can we please get some positional indicators on the people out there?!? PLEASE!!!

My Chel player in Red... Always!!!

.We don't change.. it's 3v3, it's ridiculous to be tired, with 94 endurance, skating down the ice, Once!!! I glide, don't hustle everywhere.... ! Still, in the Red, Always....Fix it, it's boring and Zero Fun, wasn't a problem in 24!!! if we changed lines, fine... But,we don't!!! Fix it!!!

Delay of game penalty
